Family Experience Day Saturday 18th October 2025

Date: 29th Sep 2025 Author: Ruth Jeffery

Discover the adventure of Scouting!

We’re hosting a fun-filled Family Experience Day where children and their families can discover what Scouting is all about. It’s the perfect chance to try some of the exciting activities we do and learn the skills that make Scouting such a great adventure.

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to…

  • Cook on a baked bean can?

  • Tie a Turk’s Head woggle?

  • Build a 5-person raft?

  • Cook dough twizzlers on an open fire?

  • Light a fire with just a flint, cotton wool, or even a battery?

  • Or find out what a “sissy stick” is??

At 1st Bernwood Forest Scouts, young people can begin their Scouting journey as Squirrels (age 4+), and progress through Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers.

This event is a fantastic opportunity for the whole family to come along, get hands-on, and experience the adventure of Scouting together.

Why not come along and have a go?

Date:             Saturday 18th October 2025
