St. George’s Day Parade 2026

Date: 1st May 2026 Author: Ruth Jeffery

The young people across Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, as well as the adults and the volunteer leaders, all came together to make a wonderful afternoon of celebration on Sunday. With eleven groups and three sets of explorers that make up the District of Chiltern Vale, it was a large parade that took place in Prince’s Risborough. 1st Bernwood should be proud that, with over 75 young people and adults, we were the largest contingent on parade.

Our young people marched wonderfully down the high street into the park, and there were lots of comments and feedback from adults watching to say how wonderful they looked. For the first time ever, we had an outside service where we retook our promises, and then the young people were free to take part in lots of different activities (bouncy castle, obstacle course, rockets, axe throwing, s’mores, etc.). The feedback on the day was great, and it looks like the District Team will want to run it again next year, outside in the sunshine.

On behalf of the group, thank you.
