St. George’s Day Parade 21st April 2024
Hi all Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Supporting Adults,
Many thanks to many of you who have already let their section volunteer team know that you are attending this year’s St Georges Day Parade on Sunday 21st April. We thought we would drop out a reminder as many of you have been away over the Easter break that the parade will still take place next weekend. Each year, all of the scouting groups across Chiltern Vale come together to celebrate thier membership of scouting and to renew their scouting promise.
Please meet at Princes Risborough library (opposite the M&S, Bell Street, Princes Risborough HP27 0AA ) at 14.15 ready to parade along the High Street to St Mary’s Church. There is parking available in the public car park next to the church (can be paid via RingGo) and you can then walk the 5 minutes to the parade start.
As this is a parade, please ensure you come with clean uniforms, neckers, black / dark trousers, school shoes or other dark shoes. We will be parading with flags and will be choosing flag bearers on the day.
The Theme of the parade this year will be “Helping Others” and the collection will this year be donated to three local food banks across the District. Please do not bring money but bring at least one item of Non-Perishable food (if people are able to bring a couple each that would be amazing) e.g. tins or packets. These will be collected at the entrance to the church.
If your young person is attending the service in the church, the collection time for parents is approximately 4pm. Unfortunately, we will not have any additional room for parents in the church itself but you are more than welcome to come and cheer us on as we parade to the church.
We look forward to seeing you all.
Yours in Scouting,
The 1st Bernwood Forest Volunteer Team
